A couple of months ago we decided to enroll in one of the floral workshops offered by the australian Donna Stain, head of the floral decoration, for the last 8 years, at the Hotel Arts in Barcelona. We really wanted to attend one of these workshops because we love flowers and, in particular, the floral arrangements by Donna.
The workshop was held last Saturday morning on the 41st floor of the Hotel Arts. Donna and her assistant Carolina welcomed us with all the material carefully prepared and huge vases of flowers. The view from the room were breathtaking! Barcelona and the sea ... an ideal landscape for the proposal that Donna had prepared: magic sea. A flower arrangement consisting of flowers and seashells.

Here are a few tricks that Donna taught us:
Unless necessary, avoid the green leaves immersed in the vases as they consume lots of water and flowers die earlier.
Moreover, the green leaves dirty the water and it is easier for bacteria to grow.
To attach the flowers, use the mosi (that green spongy mass that you have seen in many events). You can add water to the mosi when it dries.
If you want to dye the water into a certain color, you can use food coloring. It does not affect the flowers nor leaves stains on the vases.
