Una boda en la costa de Italia

Después de unas mini vacaciones bien merecidas, inauguramos el nuevo año con una sección mensual que dedicaremos a una boda que nos haya fascinado por alguna razón. A continuación os trasladamos a la costa Italia, concretamente a una boda que duró cuatro días durante los cuales los novios disfrutaron actividades como un cocktail de bienvenida al borde de un acantilado o de una comida en Capri junto a sus 80 invitados.
After a well deserved mini vacation, we open the new year with a monthly section dedicate to a wedding that has fascinated us for some reason. Next we take you to the coast Italy, specifically to a wedding that lasted four days, during which the couple enjoyed activities including a welcome cocktail at the edge of a cliff or a meal in Capri along with their 80 guests.

Indica el Camino

Ya os hablamos en nuestro post de Here Comes the Bride sobre los diferentes tipos de transportes que podían escoger las novias para hacer su llegada triunfal al lugar de la ceremonia. Pero después de bajarse del coche, caballo o el transporte que hayan elegido, deben caminar hasta el altar. Todo el mundo se gira y observa cómo entran primero las damas de honor y después la novia. 

Nos hemos fijado en que, dónde empieza el camino hacia el altar, muchas veces encontramos una señal o algún cartel que nos indica por dónde va a pasar la novia. Este detalle tan simple aporta algo más al lugar de la ceremonia y, según cómo se haga, consigue emocionar aún más a los invitados. 

We've already talked in our post of Here Comes the Bride about the different types of transport that brides could choose to make their triumphant arrival at the ceremony venue. But after getting off the car, horse or carriage of their choice, they must walk down the aisle. Everyone turns and watches the bridesmaids first and then the bride.
We have noticed that, where does the path to the altar, we can often find some kind of sign that tells us where the bride is going to happen. This simple detail adds something more to the place of the ceremony and, depending on how you do it, gets further excite the guests.

Las Minimís, ¡Yo quiero una!

Hace tiempo que queríamos hablaros de Las Minimis. La página de broches y muñecas de fieltro, el proyecto personal por el que Irene, antigua colega de trabajo, decidió apostar hace un par de años y que está resultando ser todo un éxito. ¡Y no nos extraña! Se trata de unas figuritas de fieltro personalizadas, o como las describe ella, unas personitas convertidas en broches de fieltro de 8cm. Son monísimas y están hechas con muchísimo cariño, ¡juzgad vosotros mismos!

For some time now we have wanted to talk to you about Las Minimis. La página de broches y muñecas de fieltro, the personal project that our excolleague Irene, decided to go for two years ago, and it has become very successfull. And no wonder! These are custom felt figurines, or as she describes them, little people turned into felt pins of 8 cm long. They are so cute and made with great affection, judge for yourselves!

La colección de novios es una pasada! os imagináis vuestra figurita personalizada con una versión mini de vuestro vestido/traje?

Los novios de fieltro pueden ser para la tarta, siguen siendo broches, con unos palitos de madera que se pueden quitar una vez partida la tarta para que los novios se los pongan. O pueden ser simplemente como regalos a futuras parejas casaderas y familiares. Todas las parejas van presentadas en un sencillo marco para que los dejen allí cuando no los llevan puestos y poder adornar cualquier rincón de la casa.

The bridal collection is amazing! Can you imagine your custom figurine with a mini version of your dress / suit?

And here come the guests!

Hace unos días os hablábamos de la importancia de la llegada de la novia a la ceremonia en nuestro post "Here comes the bride" y de los distintos transportes que las protagonistas eligen para este momento. Pues bien, sabemos que la novia es el principal foco de atención, seguida por el novio, pero, ¿y los invitados? Sin ellos, los novios no tendrían con quién compartir ese día tan importante... Por eso no podemos olvidar que ellos también son protagonistas en vuestro día y merecen llegar a la ceremonia radiantes y triunfales. Para conseguirlo, os mostramos algunas ideas muy atrevidas de algunas parejas que han buscado formas originales de desplazar a sus invitados.   

A few days ago we talked about the importance of the bride's arrival to the ceremony in our post "Here comes the bride" and the various transports that the protagonists choose for this moment. Well, we know that the bride is the main focus, followed by the groom, but what about the guests? Without them, the couple wouldn't have anyone to share their important day ... Therefore we can not forget that they also are key players in your day and deserve to reach the ceremony radiant and triumphant. To achieve this, we show some very daring ideas of some couples who have searched for original ways to transport their guests.

Sorprende en tu boda con un video diferente

Aquí os presentamos la nueva tendencia en videos para bodas. Éste es obra de Filmworks y se proyectó en la boda a la que asistimos este fin de semana.  Después de un día de grabación, donde los novios y sus amigos dejaron de lado la vergüenza y se pusieron en manos de los especialistas, el resultado no pudo ser mejor: un video dinámico y divertido que hizo reir y pasar un buen rato a todos los invitados.

Here we present the new trend in wedding videos. This is a work of Filmworks and was screened at the wedding that we attended this weekend. After a shooting day, where the couple and their friends put aside shame and placed themselves in the hands of specialists, the result could not be better: a dynamic and entertaining video that made laugh and have fun all guests.

Here comes the bride!

Uno de los momentos más emocionantes de una boda es sin duda la llegada de la novia... Los pelos se erizan y a alguno le saltan las lagrimillas. Pero todavía más emocionante es ver la expresión del novio cuando ve a su prometida acercarse. Es un momento increíble, los ojos le brillan y se dibuja una sonrisa en su cara, una mezcla de nervios y felicidad... la ve de lejos y está deseando que se acerque más y más para poder apreciar su belleza, y besarla, cogerle la mano, compartir esos nervios, y mirarla una y otra vez.
One of the most exciting moments of a wedding is undoubtedly the bride's arrival... You give goosebumps and more than one let go a teardrop. But even more exciting is to see the groom's expression when he sees his fiancee walking towards him. It is an incredible moment, his eyes brighten and there's a smile draw on his face, a mixture of nerves and happiness...  he sees the bride from far and wants to be closer and closer to appreciate her beauty, and kiss her, hold her hand, share those nerves, and look at her over and over again.

Ese momento es único y hay varios elementos que lo hacen todavía más emocionante. De algunos, como la música o el entorno ya os hemos hablado en anteriores posts (click en: Bodas a la orilla del mar, Chan Chan Cha Chan...),  hoy nos centraremos en el transporte con el que la novia llega a la ceremonia. Lo ideal, como siempre, es que sea adecuado con el entorno y con el tema elegido para la decoración.
That moment is unique and there are several elements that make it even more exciting. Some of them, like the music or the environment we have already spoken in previous posts (click on: Bodas a la orilla del mar, Chan Chan Cha Chan...), so today we focus on the transportation that takes the bride to the ceremony. The ideal, as always, is that it should go with the environment and with the theme of the decor.

Lo más convencional es ir en coche: desde uno clásico hasta uno retro. Es lo más cómodo y sólo necesitas encontrar el coche adecuado y el chófer.

The most conventional is the car: from a classical car to a retro one. It is the most comfortable transportation and you just need to find the right car and the driver.

Algo menos convencional pero que hemos visto en alguna ocasión es la llegada de la novia en un carruaje de caballos o en una barca, de motor o a remo. 

Something less conventional but that we've seen on occasions is the the bride arriving in a horse carriage or a boat, motor or rowing.

Y como siempre, encontramos ideas fuera de lo común, como estas novias llegando en globo,  en jet privado, en bicicleta o en sidecar.

And as always, we find ideas out of the ordinary, like brides arriving by balloon, private jet, by bicycle or sidecar.

La mayoría de famosas se decantan por la opción del coche clásico. Vemos a Kate Middleton en un coche clásico inglés, a Almudena Cid en un Rolls Roice descapotable y a Caritina Goyanes en un descapotable y rodeada de todos los pajes.

Most of the celebrities choose the classic car. We see Kate Middleton in an English classic car, Almudena Cid in a Rolls Roice convertible and Caritina Goyanes in a convertible surrounded by all the pages.

Es interesante ver las tradiciones de otros países, como por ejemplo en Marruecos, donde la novia llega a la ceremonia vestida con el caftán sentada en un trono que llevan cuatro familiares.

It is also interesting to go through the traditions of other countries such as Morocco, where the bride arrives at the ceremony dressing the caftan sat on a throne carried four relatives.

Hoy hemos descubierto este video que un ángel de Victoria's Secret ha colgado con su novio (sin duda, una pareja irresistible...) y creemos que es una forma distinta y adorable de hacer vuestro "save the date". Un vídeo en blanco y negro que recoja algo tan simple como un abrazo, una sonrisa o un beso, emocionará a todos vuestros familiares y amigos.

Para utilizarlo como vuestro "save the date" podéis añadir al final la fecha y el lugar del enlace - aprovechar esos amigos que saben editar vídeos o invertir en un profesional que os haga el montaje. ¡Lo recordaréis toda la vida!

Today we found this video uploaded by a Victoria's Secret angel with her boyfriend (no doubt and irresistible couple...) and we thought it is a different and lovely way to make your "save the date". A video in black and white that captures something as simple as a hug, a smile or a kiss; it will move your family and friends.

To use it as your "save the date" you can add date and place of the marriage at the end - take advantage of those friends who can do video editing or invest in a professional who will do the mounting.

Los novios del pastel.

Después de varias semanas, ha llegado el día en el que os enseñemos los novios del pastel más originales que nos habéis enviado.

La verdad es que tenéis ideas buenísimas y nos ha encantado recibir vuestros e-mails.

1. Elvira y Pablo regalaron marionetas personalizadas . ¡Qué buena idea! Según lo que cuentan, lo mejor fue al entrar al banquete: Pablo llevaba la marioneta del chico y Elvira la de la chica: las parejas se quedaron sorprendidísimas al ver sus miniaturas de papel maché.  

Elvira and Pablo gave customed puppets. What a great idea! As far we know, the best moment was their entrance to the venue: Pablo hold the groom's puppet and Elvira the bride's one: the couples who received the figurines were surprised to see themselfs in miniature.

En la foto podemos ver que a la pareja de la derecha les gusta hacer snorkling y él es seguidor del Barça. En la pareja de la derecha, podemos ver que a ella le encantan las zebras y a él le gusta mucho leer.
We can see that the couple on the right side enjoys snorkling and that he is a really follower of Barça. On the left side couple, we see that she likes zebras and he likes reading.

 2. María y Manfre regalaron una furgoneta y una casita de madera con dos novios. Manfre es un "manitas" y lo hizo todo a mano. ¡Vaya curro!. Nos han parecido súper originales y muy monos. 

Maria and Manfre gave a minivan and a small wooden house with the new-weds. Everything was handmade by Manfre. ¡How much work!. We find them really originals and cute.

María nos ha explicado que la furgoneta es para dos amigos que todavía tardarán un poquito en casarse y a los que les encanta viajar en coche; y los de la casita porque pronto se van a vivir juntos.
María told us that the minivan is for a couple who isn't getting married yet and likes travelling by car; and the couple who received the small home were going to live together some weeks after the Maria & Manfre's wedding.

 3. Vanessa y Jaume regalaron un coche de playmobil con sus recién casados. ¡Nos ha encantado! ¿habéis visto las latas que cuelgan de la parte trasera del coche? 

Vanessa and Jaume gave a playmobil car with the figures of the new-weds. We loved it! Have you seen the cans hanging from the car?

4. Elvira nos ha mandado una idea que no queremos dejar de enseñaros, porque a veces nos puede sacar de un apuro. Se trata de unas pequeñas marionetas de "dedo" también personalizadas. Es la opción ideal para la hermana del novio o la novia, si no lleva demasiado tiempo con el novio y quieres tener el detalle con ella. 

Elvira also sent us an idea we want to share with you, cause sometimes it can get you out of a tight spot. It's about small finger puppets, customised too. It is a good solution to give to your sister if she and her boyfriend have been together for a short time, but you want have a gesture with her. 

Elvira y Pablo se los regalaron a los abuelos que hacían 50 años de casados el mismo año de su boda. Seguro que no se lo esperaban!Y les encantó.
Elvira and Pablo gave it to their grandparents who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary the same year as their wedding. It is sure that they like it and they didn't expect it!

¿Buscas un complemento original para tus invitados? ¡Pon chapas de colores con los diseños que más te gusten y que ellos elijan cuál les combina mejor con su look! 

Estarás pensando... ¿chapas?. En la boda de Carmen y Guillermo pusimos las chapas en un recipiente de cristal junto con unas tarjetas y sobres de los mismos colores para que los invitados dejaran sus mensajes a los novios (una alternativa muy colorida al clásico libro de firmas).

At Carmen & Guillermo's wedding we put the pins into a glass jar next to loads of cards and envelops with same colours where the guests could write down their messages to the newlyweds (a colorful alternative to the classic Wedding Guest Book).  

Todos los invitados querrán tener la suya... Preferirán ponerse la del equipo del novio o de la novia? Quizás prefieren la de la fecha del gran día o la de las iniciales de los novios para recordar siempre esa boda... Una buena elección es también ponerse la chapa con el clásico final de cuento: ...and we'll live happily ever after. 

All guests will want to have theirs... Would rather wear the team groom or the team bride one? Maybe they prefer the one with the big day's date or the one with the inicial of the couple's name just to make that day unforgetable... Tarjetas para las damas de honor.

Navegando por internet nos tropezamos con el blog Oncewed donde vimos una idea creada por Anna de Rifle Paper Co. que nos pareció ideal para que la novia pregunte formalmente a sus elegidas, si les gustaría ser sus damas de honor. ¿No os parece buena idea que la novia tenga este detallazo con las que van a ser su mano derecha durante toda la organización de su boda?

Lo que más nos gustó es que lo puedes hacer tú misma, ¡es facilísimo!.

Se trata de una tarjeta con la silueta de tantas chicas como damas de honor tenga la novia, con el vestido del color que llevarán y con sus nombres escritos en él. Para personalizarlo todavía más se puede recortar el pelo con el look que tengan las elegidas.

Surfing the internet we came acros the blog Oncewed where we found an idea created by Anna of Rifle Paper Co. which we thought it would be amazing for the bride: to send a card formally asking those whom she wants to be her bridesmaid. Don't you think that it is a nice gesture with those which will be her confident during all the wedding organisation?

What we liked the most was that you can do it yourself, it's really easy!

It's a card with as many girls as bridesmaids the bride has, with the dress coloured in the same colour they will wear, and with their names written on the dress. To personalise it even more, the hair cut can be similar than the bridesmaid looks.

Material / Supplies:

1. cartulina (para el vestido y el pelo), 2. cartulina para el cuerpo, 3. sobres, 4. regla, 5. tijeras, 6. lápiz, goma y pegamento de barra.

1. craft paper (for clothes & hair), 2. paper for bodies, 3. envelopes, 4. ruler, 5. scissors, 6. pencil, eraser & glue stick.  

Primero, tienes que asegurarte que la cadena de siluetas cabrá en el sobre. Yo decidí hacerlos de 15 cm de altura por 7 de ancho. Dibuja unas marcas cada 7 cm (o la medida que hayas elegido) en la parte superior e inferior del papel para cada una de las damas de honor.  

First, be sure that your chain will fit in the envelope you choose. I decided to make my chain about 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide to fit in an A7 envelope. Draw tick marks every 3.5. inches (or whatever with chose) on the top and bottom of the paper for every bridesmaid.

Corta el rectángulo y dobla el papel en vertical entre cada marca, en forma de acordeón. 

Cut out your rectangle and score the paper vertically between each set of tick marks, in accordion style.

On the top of the stack draw the shape of your person. Be sure to draw the arms and legs to the edge of the paper so that they will be attached into a chain after you cut it out.

A continuación, corta las figuras y ¡abre la cadena! Decora las damas con los vestidos del color que elijas y con diferentes cortes de pelo para personalizarlo. Dibuja los ojos y la boca, y escribe el nombre sobre cada vestido.

Next, cut out the person shape and open up your masterpiece chain! Decorate your ladies with dresses of your choice and different hairstyles to personalize them. I also drew faces and painted their names on each one.

Para completar el set, corta una banda de cartulina y pega los dos laterales. Ponlo alrededor de la cadena de figuras y de la carta, y escribe el nombre de la persona a la que va dirigida. 

To complete the set I wrapped a band of paper around the chain and information card and wrote the name of the person I was to be sending it to.
