Although Thanksgiving is not a holiday we usually celebrate here, this year we decided to give it a try to this american celebration, characterized by its autumnal decor and irresistible menus. To break with the tablecloth, we used a table runner with feathers that gave it a very appropriate touch according to the main course of the meal: the turkey. As centerpieces, we chose two flat bases full of dried fruits and leaves in orange and green. We decorated the rest of the table with old golden ducks and candleholders in the same color, as well as pumpkins (ideal both for decorating and to serve starters), and several types of bread sticks to accompany the appetizers.

We want to share with you a project that we have enjoyed so much. This is a 30th birthday party, with the theme "Bow-ties and Headresses" (to get more details: Fiesta de 30 años: Pajaritas y tocados: la decoración and Fiesta de 30 años: Pajaritas y Tocados: Objetido cumplido). Although we have had a lot of work, we have had a lot of fun organizing it. We are going to show you every single detail... but as a starter, here are the Save The Date sent by email to the guests and the handmade invitation that they found in their mailboxes.
Este es el Save the Date.
This is the Save the Date.

This is the invitation and the envelope the guests received.
Here are the steps to do the invitation yourself.

1. Supplies: rule, double-sided tape, cutter, untied envelope, feathers, ribbon and craft paper.
2. Cut craft paper with the measures showed above to make a bow tie.
3. Once you've cut the paper, fold the top and bottom and fix it with tape; fold again, this time on the sides and fix it with tape as well.
4. You will have a rectangle; pinch from above and below so that the thumb and index fingertouch.
5. Use the 8cm craft paper strip that you cut earlier for the central know of the bow, so it is tied and will not let go.
6. Circuit the invitation with a 2cm wide strip of craft paper and glue the bow and two feathers in the center with double-sided tape.
7. Put the invitation inside the untied envelope. Assemble the envelope, make a hole in the bottom and top flats, and use the ribbon to close the envelope with a bow.

Although all mothers deserve a tribute the 365 days of the year, we like that there's a day where all of them feel special.
On mother's day, prepare a breakfast for her and make her enjoy sunday morning as if she was in a 5 stars hotel and forgets all her worries.
No te llevará mucho tiempo.

It won't take you too long. Go out and buy some fresh pastries and prepare toasts, a bit of jam, some fruit, a fried egg and to drink, tea or capuccino and orange juice. Do not forget to include some ingredient that she usually fancies: truffles, cream, ground cinnamon...

Retrieve the china cutlery from the back of the closet, put everything on a tray and print this menu and other images that will give to your surprise the sensitive and personal touch needed.

Pascua made in U.S.A

Although our traditions are rooted in our contry, we can't hide our devotion for the decorations made in U.S.A. For those who don't know the queen of DIY, Martha Stewart is one of our references for each celebration. Both her crafts and recipes inspire us in every occasion.
In this case, two days away from Easter, we want to propose some of her "last minute ideas" for those of you who have decided to improvise a last minute snack.

FLOWER BOUQUET

Decorate the table with this easy, original and themed centerpieces.
Supplies: paper bags and baby-foot jars o shot glasses to hold the flowers in the bags.

1. Cut the bag leaving a the shape of an upside down T. As you can see in the image below, you have to cut the transparent pieces.
2. Prepare the glasses with the flowers, as little bouquets. Put them inside the bags and glue the two halves of the handle. Fill in with flowers... and they are ready to put on the table!

SWEET CARROTS

Surfing the internet we came acros the blog Oncewed where we found an idea created by Anna of Rifle Paper Co. which we thought it would be amazing for the bride: to send a card formally asking those whom she wants to be her bridesmaid. Don't you think that it is a nice gesture with those which will be her confident during all the wedding organisation?
What we liked the most was that you can do it yourself, it's really easy!
It's a card with as many girls as bridesmaids the bride has, with the dress coloured in the same colour they will wear, and with their names written on the dress. To personalise it even more, the hair cut can be similar than the bridesmaid looks.

Material / Supplies:
1. craft paper (for clothes & hair), 2. paper for bodies, 3. envelopes, 4. ruler, 5. scissors, 6. pencil, eraser & glue stick.

First, be sure that your chain will fit in the envelope you choose. I decided to make my chain about 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide to fit in an A7 envelope. Draw tick marks every 3.5. inches (or whatever with chose) on the top and bottom of the paper for every bridesmaid.
Cut out your rectangle and score the paper vertically between each set of tick marks, in accordion style.
On the top of the stack draw the shape of your person. Be sure to draw the arms and legs to the edge of the paper so that they will be attached into a chain after you cut it out.
Next, cut out the person shape and open up your masterpiece chain! Decorate your ladies with dresses of your choice and different hairstyles to personalize them. I also drew faces and painted their names on each one.
To complete the set I wrapped a band of paper around the chain and information card and wrote the name of the person I was to be sending it to.

We loved the idea and decided to do our own version. ¡This is how it turned out!
